
This is the largest piece of boxwood I’ve ever used, roughly 16cms wide by 17cms deep. Too big to go into my Nippin press I had to print by burnishing, which worked better than I feared. It was also the only whole trunk cross section that I’ve ever worked on, complete with bark, and it was given to me by Ben and Lyn – amazing wood-workers and friends of my neighbours Julia her husband Steve Harrison (the acclaimed potter). I can’t thank them enough.
